Parker Ketring has lived in the Camas area of Washington State almost his whole life. The inspiration within his artwork derives from his personal experiences exploring the forested parks around the Columbia Gorge. He has also traveled around the world and visited such places as Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, France, and many US States.
Instead of sticking to one art medium, Parker likes to explore different ways to express his thoughts and inspirations. He has created art in oil, acrylic, gouache paints, ceramics, glass blowing, charcoal, graphite and many others. His favorite mediums to use and study in are charcoal and gouache.
He graduated from Camas High School in 2011 and completed a bachelors degree from Brigham Young University - Idaho in Art Education Composite, December 2020. He is currently certified to teach Visual Arts in the state of Washington and Idaho and is a full-time Art Teacher in the Boise School District in Boise, ID.
When he is not doing art he spends his time playing the piano (and making arrangements), video games, board games with friends and family, walking or running through forest trails and making and eating good food.
You are welcome to follow his Instagram account, which contains more artwork - including sketches - that he is currently working on.
